ABOUT IHVFD
The Indian Harbor Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1972 and is comprised of friends and neighbors who are committed to making a difference in their community.
The department’s primary response is 50 square miles with a secondary or mutual aid area of 436 square miles. We average twenty volunteers who are responsible for the emergency calls in this area.
Volunteers of the Indian Harbor Fire Department average almost 700 emergency calls per year. In addition, members performed routine maintenance duties and participated in numerous training, fundraising and community events.
The department also plays a key role in providing fire safety awareness to many of the schools in the community.
